About Memminger Weinfest

In the middle of Memmingen's Old Town, the historic Hallhof transforms into an open wine tavern in mid-September for one day. Selected wines from various German growing regions, regional delicacies, and live music characterize the Memminger Weinfest. In parallel, Italian merchants from Abruzzo – the partner region of the Swabian town of Teramo – present tastings and Italian live music on Manghausplatz.

Wine, Delicacies, and a Touch of Italy

The Memminger Weinfest is one of the most charming late summer events in the Allgäu region. On the Hallhof in the middle of Memmingen's Old Town, vintners and merchants serve exquisite wines from various German growing regions, while regional chefs prepare Swabian and Allgäuer specialties.

A Festival in Two Worlds

The special feature of the Memminger Weinfest is its close connection with the Italian partner region: For several years now, Italian merchants from Abruzzo around the partner town of Teramo have set up their stalls on Manghausplatz in parallel. You can taste cheese, cured meats, olive oils, wine, and sweets there, while Italian live music fills the square.

Opening with Tradition

The official opening is traditionally performed by the Mayor, the board of Stadtmarketing, and the reigning Memmingen Flower Queen. This integrates the wine festival into the cultural traditions of the former Free Imperial City.

Memmingen in the Allgäu

Memmingen is located in the Unterallgäu district in the Bavarian administrative region of Swabia. The medieval Old Town with its market square and historic patrician houses provides the perfect setting for a festival that combines wine enjoyment, regional cuisine, and Mediterranean flair.

Memminger Weinfest — edition 2026

The Memminger Weinfest 2026 will take place on Saturday, September 12, 2026, at Hallhof. Winemakers and merchants will present exquisite wines from various growing regions, complemented by regional delicacies and live music. The parallel Italian market with merchants from Abruzzo will open on Manghausplatz starting Thursday, featuring tastings and Italian live music.

The 2026 edition of the Memminger Weinfest will be organized by Stadtmarketing Memmingen e.V. and once again brings wine culture and enjoyment to the Old Town. The exact schedule will be published by the organizer in the summer of 2026 on the official website.

While you pair Riesling, Spätburgunder, or Silvaner with regional delicacies at Hallhof, you can switch to Italian specialties at Manghausplatz – a concept that has proven successful for years.
