43rd edition of the big village festival — with Sunday shopping, craft market, and vintage tractor show
The Liptingen Village Festival will be held for the 43rd time in 2026. Liptingen is one of the two districts of the twin municipality of Emmingen-Liptingen in the Tuttlingen district — located on the plateau between the Swabian Jura and Hegau. The village clubs (sports club, music club, fire department association, women's choir, church community, etc.) have been organizing the festival for generations. In 2026, it falls on the weekend of May 16 and 17.
The opening on Saturday evening features an open-air concert by the band Bad Label — described as “musicians who want to make a party an unforgettable experience” with a mix of pop and rock hits. Admission €4. The festival runs until 2 AM; under 18s must leave by midnight (unless accompanied by a written parental note).
Sunday is the main festival day with a packed program. The traders' and craft market runs from 10 AM to 6 PM — the municipality of Emmingen-Liptingen has explicitly approved a Sunday shopping day for May 17, 2026. This allows village shops to be open. In the festival tent, the morning pint starts at 11:30 AM with the Emmingen Music Band. In the afternoon (around 2 PM), the Schutzblech Brass Band will play. Demonstrations by the Rope Skipping Group and a CrazyLiners Workshop (Country Line Dance) are also featured.
For families with children, there is a dedicated adventure area: bouncy castle, bungee jumping, go-kart track, face painting. Additionally, a book flea market, a vintage tractor exhibition, and — new in 2026 — an exhibition of props and materials from the film “Fenners Gold”. An additional craft market will be held in the Schloßbühlhalle.
Emmingen-Liptingen was formed in 1975 from the merger of the villages Emmingen ab Egg and Liptingen. The municipality, with around 4,800 inhabitants, is located on a plateau between 700 and 800 meters above sea level, with views of the Swabian Jura and Hegau. A typical southern German twin municipality where the two districts preserve their own identity and local festivals — the Liptingen Village Festival is one of the most important community events in the Liptingen district.
The Liptingen Village Festival 2026 is the 43rd edition of the event series. Saturday evening features an open-air concert by the band Bad Label — pop and rock hits, €4 admission. The festival runs until 2 AM.
