An Album That Changed Everything

In 1990, Matthias Reim's debut album «REIM» was released, featuring the hit «Verdammt, ich lieb' dich». The song became the German Schlager anthem of the 1990s and has remained Reim's signature tune to this day. In 2026 — 35 years after its release — the artist celebrates the anniversary with a major tour through Germany, Austria, and Switzerland.

Concert at Creuzburg Castle

One of the tour stops is Creuzburg Castle — a medieval hilltop castle in the Werra Valley, in the Wartburg district. The castle belongs to the town of Amt Creuzburg, just under 30 km west of Eisenach. The concert will take place in the castle courtyard — an intimate open-air atmosphere with limited capacity, completely different from the large arena concerts on the tour.

Reim promises a special format for the anniversary tour: all 10 songs from the debut album «REIM» in their original order, followed by a best-of selection from 35 years of his career. So, you'll hear not only «Verdammt, ich lieb' dich» but also the other tracks from the groundbreaking first album, as well as later hit singles.

Creuzburg Castle in the Wartburg District

The castle, built in the 11th century, was once the residence of Saint Elisabeth of Thuringia before she moved to Wartburg Castle. Today, it houses a museum, a café, and an event hall. Open-air concerts in the castle courtyard are among the special experiences actively marketed by Wartburgkreis Tourism.
