About Marktfest Welden

On the second Sunday in August, the Swabian market town of Welden celebrates its traditional Marktfest. Organized by the Heimatverein Welden (Local Heritage Association), accompanied by the Musikvereinigung Welden (Music Association) with its youth and market bands, the festival day begins with a procession from the church to the market meeting point, followed by entertainment music. In the afternoon, the popular Marktfestolympiade (Market Festival Olympics) is on the program. Traditional specialties like Musikerbraten (musician's roast) and steaks from the grill are available at moderate prices – a cozy village festival for the whole community.
