46. Marktfest Schmidmühlen

The 46th edition of the Marktfest Schmidmühlen takes place on August 1st and 2nd, 2026, traditionally on the first weekend of August. On Saturday afternoon, the grand parade, led by the Blaskapelle St. Ägidius, winds through the town, followed by beer tapping and festivities with brass band music. Throughout the weekend, traditional crafts and demonstrations such as Drischldreschen, donkey races in the flood basin, and helicopter rides are offered. Flea markets, exhibitions, and amusement rides complete the program. The festival is held under the motto 'Citizens for Citizens' and is jointly supported by clubs and the village community. Getting there

Schmidmühlen is located in the Amberg-Sulzbach district in the Vilstal valley, accessible via the state roads towards Amberg or Burglengenfeld. The festival takes place in the town center.
