Mainau Open Airs 2026 — Premiere Season
Five concerts in eleven days directly in front of the Baroque palace of Mainau Island. A new, intimate open-air stage with sightlines from all areas — and a view that no other concert backdrop in Germany offers.
The lineup covers a broad stylistic range: from Schlager to mental magic and folk music comedy, to chanson and electronic pop. A mix that deliberately diversifies the audience.

A New Open-Air Stage on Lake Constance
In 2026, Mainau Island will expand its cultural program with its own open-air concert series: In the palace gardens — directly in front of the 18th-century Baroque Deutschorden Schloß — a new, partially covered stage with views of Lake Constance is being built. The organizer is AC Live, the concert label of Allgäu Concerts, and the series is presented by the radio station Radio 7. The premiere season runs from September 1st to 11th, 2026, and deliberately features a broad range of artists from Schlager, mental magic, folk music comedy, chanson, and electronic pop.
Five Concerts in Eleven Days
The series opens on Tuesday, September 1st, 2026, with Schlager star Matthias Reim. On Thursday, September 3rd, mentalist Timon Krause — one of Europe's most successful stage mentalists — will follow. On Saturday, September 5th, folk music comedian Oimara will take the stage. On Wednesday, September 9th, chanson singer Annett Louisan will perform. The finale will be on Friday, September 11th, with Schiller — Christopher von Deylen's electronic solo project with symphonic-meditative soundscapes. Two more artists have already been announced for 2027.
A Garden That Becomes a Stage
Mainau is world-famous as the "Flower Island" — over 1.2 million visitors annually come to the 45-hectare park owned by the Bernadotte family. The palace gardens directly by the palace offer an intimate venue, much smaller than the large festival locations on Lake Constance. The partially covered stage guarantees independence from the weather, and the unobstructed view of the lake makes every concert a visual experience. AC Live promises "intimate stage with great sightlines" — meaning the sightlines from all areas are deliberately curated.
Konstanz and Mainau Island
Mainau Island belongs to the city of Konstanz in the district of Konstanz, state of Baden-Württemberg. The island is accessible via a bridge from the mainland on foot or by boat from Konstanz and Meersburg. Konstanz itself, with around 84,000 inhabitants, is a university city and the largest city on Lake Constance — arrival by train is via Singen or Schaffhausen (CH). Those who combine the concert with an island day can explore the Flower Island during the day and end up in the concert setting in front of the palace in the evening.
