When May begins in Werne, the Maikirmes arrives: From May 1st to 4th, 2026, the city centre of this Westphalian town will become a fairground for four days with rides, food stalls, and a stage programme. The opening hours are clearly scheduled: daily from 2 PM to 10 PM, free admission, the city centre will be completely closed to car traffic.

Opening on Friday — Barrel Organ Procession for a Good Cause

The official opening will take place on Friday, May 1st, 2026 at 5 PM at the traditional Arens bar. Afterwards, a barrel organ procession will wind its way through the funfair grounds — the collected donations will go to a local charitable cause. A charming tradition that gives the Werner Maikirmes its specific character.

New for 2026 — Two Premieres

The Maikirmes 2026 brings two exciting new attractions to the Werne area:

Kuhnos Farm — the Family Roller Coaster

'Kuhnos Farm' is a new family roller coaster with a farm theme. An ideal introductory roller coaster for children and parents — the roller coaster travels through a colourfully designed farm setting with animals, a barn, and fields.

Avengers — the Giant Wheel with Hanging Gondolas

"Avengers" is a state-of-the-art giant wheel ride: Hanging gondolas rotate and move up and down simultaneously. For adrenaline seekers, one of the most spectacular attractions on the tour.

Classic Rides on the Market Square

The established funfair classics line up on the market square:
