Electronic day festival on the shore of Losheimer See — three stages, 21 acts and Topic as headliner
When people think of "lake festivals" in Germany, they rarely think of Saarland. Think again: In the far north of the Merzig-Wadern district lies the Losheimer Stausee, one of Saarland's largest bathing waters at 1,200 by 400 meters — and since 2015, the annual summer venue for the Lucky Lake Festival, one of the best-produced electronic day events in Western Germany.
Lucky Lake is intentionally a day festival — starting at 12:00 PM, ending at 10:00 PM. Ten hours combining beach, water, and music. Three stages are spread across the grounds:
What sets the event apart from other electronic festivals: high-quality sound systems on all stages, professional organization (the organizer is POPP Betriebsgesellschaft GmbH from Trier — the same company behind the Toten Hosen concerts at Bostalsee), and a deliberately limited ticket contingent for a pleasant density.
Headlining the tenth edition are Topic (German hit producer, "Breaking Me") and DJ star David Puentez. Also featured are the Austrian duo Harris & Ford (Hands Up / Hardstyle), Tujamo (Big-Room-House), Marten Hørger, and George Radsport. Playing on the Beachstage are Zeuz, Bonnie Strange, and Ely Oaks, among others. Further confirmed acts: Aka Aka, Anyox, Barengo, Bovski, Chmieloveski, Kat, Mi Lai, Nyra, Rot.ton, Tham, Tim Grothe, Timo Schinsky.
What makes Lucky Lake special: You're at a lake in Saarland. While waiting for a DJ set, you can swim. While dancing, you look out over the water. The beach is an official bathing area of the municipality of Losheim, not a festival add-on — meaning sand instead of dusty grounds, real water, very clean infrastructure. Camping is possible at the adjacent campsite, two hotels and holiday apartments in Losheim am See complement the offer. Families are welcome; the festival deliberately positions itself as "family-friendly".
Losheim am See is located in the Saarschleifenland, one of the most scenic regions of Saarland. Those extending their weekend can combine it with the Saarschleife near Mettlach (20 km), hiking tours on the premium trails, or a canoe trip on the Saar. Luxembourg, Trier, and the French border region are also reachable in about half an hour.
The 12th edition of Lucky Lake continues the proven mix of established electronic headliners, newcomer talents, and a unique beach backdrop at the Losheimer Stausee. Three stages, high-quality sound systems, regional food trucks. Camping at the reservoir is possible; the festival is professionally organized by POPP Betriebsgesellschaft.
The full timetable with exact slots per stage will be published a few weeks before the event at luckylakefestival.com/timetable.
