On the second weekend of Advent 2026 (December 5th and 6th), the Lesum market square will once again transform into an atmospheric Christmas market. The church, first mentioned in writing as early as 1235, stands visibly on a hill in the middle of the old village centre, surrounded by the historic Lesum cemetery with gravestones from the 17th century; in 1778, the nave was demolished and rebuilt as a baroque hall.
