Spring Kick-off at Speicher XI
When plants, flowers, and garden dreams fill the market stalls around the historic Speicher XI on Mother's Day, it's Lenzmarkt. In the red-brick harbour district of Bremen's Überseestadt in the Walle district, the square around the listed Speicher XI transforms into a large spring market. Around 80 exhibitors bring everything that makes balconies, terraces, and gardens bloom – from perennials and herbs to roses, young vegetable plants, and rare organic varieties. The date on the second Sunday in May is the starting signal for the gardening season for many Bremen residents – and a popular Mother's Day outing.

Hanseatic Harbour Quarter in Spring Mood
The historic Speicher buildings of Bremen's Überseestadt recall the grand era of the overseas port – once a transshipment point for coffee, cotton, and tobacco, today a vibrant city district between water, brick, and modern architecture. The Lenzmarkt has been using this unique industrial backdrop as a stage for the season's opening for about two decades. The market celebrated its 20th anniversary in 2025, and the 21st edition follows in 2026 – a fixed spring date in the event calendar of the Free Hanseatic City of Bremen, organized by Messe Bremen (M3B GmbH).
