Bavaria's Largest Theme Park with a True Festival Character

LEGOLAND Deutschland Resort in Günzburg (District of Günzburg, Bavarian Swabia) has been in operation since 2002 and, with around 1.5 million visitors annually, is one of Germany's most visited theme parks. What many visitors don't realize is that the season is not just continuous park operation, but a sequence of six major 'Hero Events', each thematically transforming the entire park for several weeks — with shows, special promotions, food specialties, live music, and fireworks.

Season Opening March 28, 2026

The 2026 season begins on Saturday, March 28, and runs in regular mode until Sunday, November 8 (214 opening days), followed by the WinterWonder LEGOLAND winter season from November 27, 2026, to January 10, 2027. With the season opening, the park presents two new large models made from a total of 750,000 LEGO bricks: 'Professor Brick' (4.8 m high, 250,000 bricks, 1.6 tons) and 'Tree of Creativity'. Simultaneously, the new LEGO Mega Store opens — with 849 m² of retail space, it is Germany's largest LEGO shop.

Six Hero Events 2026

  • NINJAGO Anniversary (March 28–April 12): 15 years of LEGO NINJAGO with a ninja training camp, hands-on activities, interactive show acts, and an exhibition on the series' history
  • Football Event for the 2026 FIFA World Cup (June 11–July 19): Event weeks with building activities, games, and shows centered around the World Cup in the USA, Canada, and Mexico
  • LEGO Festival Summer (July 20–August 30): Second edition of the summer festival with music, dance, and building activities; on three Saturdays (August 1, 8, 15), Long Summer Nights with park opening until 10 PM, live music, and fireworks
  • Halloween Event (October 3–November 8): family-friendly spooky fun with themed decorations, shows, and activities
  • WinterWonder LEGOLAND (November 27, 2026–January 10, 2027): fourth edition with sparkling lights, winter parade, special program, and over 1,000 decorated trees

What Makes the Park Unique

Unlike pure roller coaster parks, LEGOLAND thrives on the combination of over 50 rides, highly themed areas (Pirate Island, Knight's Kingdom, NINJAGO World, MINILAND with German landmarks made of LEGO bricks), and an extremely high density of activities. With the directly connected Holiday Village (hotels, holiday homes, campsite), visits often turn into multi-day stays.

LEGOLAND Season — edition 2026

Six major Hero Events structure the season, plus new large models, Germany's largest LEGO shop, and Long Summer Nights with fireworks on three Saturdays in August.
