Culture and sport in the heart of town — Town festival with 41st City Run
The Lebacher TheelFeschd is one of the most interesting hybrid festivals in Saarland: a fun run and town festival, combined in one weekend right in the heart of Lebach. Organised by the town and the gymnastics club TV Lebach, the motto has been "Culture and sport in the heart of town" for years. The eleventh edition in 2026 falls on June 26–27 and combines running, live music, and Saarland's club life.
The highlight of Friday evening is the 41st levoBank-Stadtlauf: a measured 2.5 km circuit through the town centre, starting and finishing at the town hall. Six races — from the Bambini run (500 m) and the youth run, a 5 km beginner's run, and a relay, to the main 10 km race, which is also the Saarland state championship. A special feature in 2026: The run is a qualifying event for the Special Olympics National Games 2026 in Saarbrücken.
After the first races in the afternoon, the main run starts at 6:30 PM, followed by award ceremonies and the traditional keg tapping (Fassanstich) around 8:30 PM on Bitcher Platz. The cover band Celebration will then play hits from several decades into the festive evening.
Saturday is all about live music. At 6 PM, Times and Tales opens the evening with "New Age Pop and Rock". From 9 PM, the nine-member Teamwork Coverband takes over with a mix of rock, pop, soul, and dance — one of the most popular cover bands in the Saar region. The stage is centrally located on Bitcher Platz, with the audience spread across the beer garden, dance floor, and surrounding venues.
Lebach is a district town and a central hub in the Saarlouis district, about 25 km north of Saarbrücken. With a population of just over 19,000 and an active club scene, the TheelFeschd has become the town's largest summer event in just a few years — and regionally, the most unusual combination of a fun run and town festival in Saarland.
With the 41st edition of the city run, the hybrid festival reaches a historic milestone. Organised by the town of Lebach and TV Lebach, the registration fees for the run range from €0 (Bambini run) to €20 (relay), depending on the race.
Free admission to the festival. City run entry fee: €5 Youth Run, €8 Beginner's Run, €10 Main Run, €20 Relay. Bambini and Special Run free. Online registration until June 24, 11:59 PM, late registration +€3.
