Hardcore, Screamo and Punk Festival at freiLand Potsdam
Anyone interested in the loud, political side of DIY music in Brandenburg can hardly ignore the Le désordre c'est moi Festival. Organized by CULTUS UG at freiLand Potsdam, LDCM has been a fixture in the Central German Hardcore and Screamo scene for years. The festival name – in French, "The Disorder is Me" – refers to its ethos: music as self-assertion, as a collective gesture, as a counterpoint to commercial polish.
The 2026 edition is among the 15 festival formats supported by the state capital Potsdam as part of its Festival Funding 2026. The exact date will be published by the organizer in spring/summer 2026 on freiland-potsdam.de. For comparison: the previous year's edition took place in July 2025. As usual, bands from Germany, France, Belgium, and the USA are expected, attracting an engaged audience from Potsdam, Berlin, and the entire region.
The freiLand at Friedrich-Engels-Straße 22 is one of Brandenburg's most important self-governing cultural centers. On the former factory site, concerts, festivals, workshops, readings, a cinema, and a café are housed – along with workshops, rehearsal rooms, and political initiatives. The area can be reached from Potsdam Central Station in 15 minutes on foot and is part of the "Babelsberg Scene" around the film park.
The Hardcore and Screamo scene in Brandenburg and Berlin thrives on small, self-organized festivals like LDCM. Bands often play for fair fees, ticket prices are solidarity-based, and catering is usually vegan – and the audience comprises a mix of students, activists, and scene visitors forming a close-knit but open community. LDCM stands in this tradition and sees itself as a platform for the loud, political, and experimental side of Punk.
Potsdam, the state capital of Brandenburg, is primarily known for Sanssouci and the Dutch Quarter. Visitors to Le désordre c'est moi get to know a different side: Babelsberg beyond the film studios, the alternative scene around freiLand, Friedrich-Engels-Straße as the artery of self-organized life. A good opportunity to experience Potsdam differently – away from the tourist crowds.
