Ship Parade with Fireworks
„Havel in Flammen“ is one of Potsdam's most spectacular evening events. On Friday, September 18, 2026, Weisse Flotte Potsdam GmbH invites you to the grand ship parade on the Havel River — an approximately three-hour evening cruise that leads into the Templiner See and culminates there with an elaborate fireworks display. Several ships from the Weisse Flotte will depart from the pier at Lange Brücke and sail in formation through the Potsdam Havel landscape — a floating festival mile against the backdrop of Babelsberg Palace and the Glienicke Bridge.
On Board — Champagne Reception, Dinner, and Live Music
The premium experience begins upon boarding: champagne reception upon arrival on board, followed by a two- or three-course meal prepared in the ship's kitchen. The drink selection includes wine, beer, non-alcoholic beverages, coffee, and tea. On selected ships, live music or a DJ provides entertainment — from an upscale dinner program to dance music after the fireworks. A culinary evening cruise that combines enjoyment, atmosphere, and the pyrotechnic experience.
Fireworks over Templiner See
The highlight of the event is the pyrotechnic display over the Templiner See — the ships stop in formation on the lake, becoming floating grandstands for fireworks that transform the water's surface into a sea of lights. The reflections on the water double the visual impact — the experience is particularly impressive from on board. After the fireworks, the cruise returns to Potsdam.
Tickets and Prices
Tickets from €109 per person (incl. champagne reception, dinner, drinks). Reservations via the Weisse Flotte Potsdam website (schifffahrt-in-potsdam.de). The event regularly sells out quickly — early booking recommended. Various ships and categories are available; details and ship comparisons on the website.
Potsdam and the Havel Landscape
Potsdam is the state capital of Brandenburg and a UNESCO World Heritage site since 1990 — primarily for the parks and palaces of Sanssouci. The city is located directly on the Havel River, one of Northern Germany's most beautiful river routes. The Templiner See is the southernmost of Potsdam's Havel lakes and is known for its calm waters, offering ideal conditions for a fireworks display. Weisse Flotte Potsdam has been operating passenger shipping on the Havel lakes for decades and, with 'Havel in Flammen,' organizes one of Brandenburg's most important pyrotechnic events.
