In parallel, the Friends of the City Library organizes a book flea market in the old donkey parking lot; coffee and cake are available in the library's reading café. Lauterbach – Vogelsberg District Town

Lauterbach, with its approximately 13,500 inhabitants, is the district town of the Vogelsberg district and is located in the center of the Vogelsberg volcanic massif. Lauterbach is known regionally primarily for the song "Zu Lauterbach hab ich mein' Strumpf verloren" – a folk song from the 19th century that can still be found in many songbooks today.
