Town Festival on Jahnplatz
The Langener Kerb is one of the largest district festivals in South Hesse — and the home game of the over 140-year-old Gewerbeverein 1877 Langen e. V.. The venue is the Friedrich-Ludwig-Jahn-Platz (short for "Jahnplatz"), which is traditionally used for the town's folk festivals.
First Weekend of September
In 2026, the Kerb falls on the first weekend of September: Saturday, September 5, to Tuesday, September 8. Classic Kerb program — amusement rides, festival tent, gastronomic stands, family day — and a packed schedule of activities.
Sunday with Extended Shopping Hours and City Festival
A special feature of the Langener Kerb: the parallel Sunday with extended shopping hours. On Sunday, September 6, from 12 PM to 6 PM, the shops in the city center will open, accompanied by a City Market with activities and meeting points in Bahnstraße, Rheinstraße, and Wassergasse. This makes the Kerb a complete experience: amusement rides at Jahnplatz and shopping in the city center.
Tradition for Decades
The Kerb has been part of Langen's town life for generations. Festival tent catering, carousels, shooting galleries — this is the classic image of a German suburban Kerb. What makes Langen special: its location between Frankfurt and Darmstadt attracts visitors from the entire South Hesse region.
