Sustainable, anti-fascist, queer-feminist — Youth festival for climate justice
KLIMATAK stands for Klima Tanzen Aufrütteln Schützen (Climate Dancing Rousing Protecting) and is an annual youth festival in Berlin, established in 2023. It is organized by a collective of young activists from the Berlin climate justice movement, with organizational support from the association Inter-auf-takt. The festival combines live music, DJ sets, workshops, political talks, and interactive stands on a single summer day.
Two stages, a packed program: Musically, a mix of indie, pop, electronic music, and rap, with acts like Monokrom, Theresa Zanon, VIO, Juicy Süß, Carls8erg, NEVENA, MC DRA, Marisabelle, or Clitschnass (2025 program). Alongside political workshops on climate justice, input talks, and stands from initiatives within the urban movement. A clearly formulated awareness concept: the festival is explicitly queer-feminist, anti-fascist, and anti-racist.
The venue is the old shooting range on the edge of Schönholzer Heide, at Hermann-Hesse-Straße 82, in the Niederschönhausen district (Pankow borough). Schönholzer Heide is a large, little-known public park in northern Berlin – the festival utilizes the atmosphere of this urban wilderness, far from the hustle and bustle of the city center.
So far, the festival has taken place once in the summer (2024: July 13, 2025: July 19). The date for 2026 will be announced by the collective in spring/summer 2026 on klimatak.de and social media. Typically in July, on a Saturday, admission from early afternoon, music until 11 PM. Pankow district, Niederschönhausen locality, Berlin, federal state of Berlin.
The format will be similar to previous years: two stages with live music and DJ sets, workshops, political input talks, and stands from initiatives. It will feature an awareness concept and a solidarity pricing model. The organizers annually seek volunteers for awareness, bar, decoration, security, documentation, logistics, and moderation – sign-ups are available on the festival website.
The detailed program for 2026 has not yet been released; the collective typically begins announcing initial lineup details from June 2026 onwards.
