Munich Federal Police Orchestra in Hauzenberg Parish Church
The Munich Federal Police Orchestra is among Germany's leading symphonic wind orchestras. With professional musicians, a diverse repertoire, and concert activities that extend far beyond traditional police events, the ensemble has established itself as an ambassador of symphonic wind music. Concerts by the orchestra are not only musically top-class but also staged in a way that engages the audience.
With its tall, slender architecture, Hauzenberg Parish Church offers ideal acoustics for a wind orchestra concert. The vast church space carries the timbres of the woodwind and brass instruments, and the festive atmosphere of the late autumn church lends a dignified framework to the conclusion of the Culture Weeks.
The programme promises an entertaining musical evening with classical works, contemporary wind music, and special arrangements – a deliberately broad programme choice that appeals to lovers of symphonic music as well as fans of modern wind orchestra literature. The combination of a festive church setting and diverse repertoire makes this concert a highlight in the Lower Bavarian concert calendar 2026.
The Hauzenberg Culture Weeks are an established event series by the Förderkreis Kulturwochen Hauzenberg e.V. (Hauzenberg Culture Weeks Support Circle) that brings a dense cultural programme to the East Bavarian granite town in autumn and early winter. Concerts, readings, cabaret, theatre, and exhibitions shape the programme – supported by the voluntary commitment of the support circle and sponsored by the town of Hauzenberg.
Hauzenberg is a town of around 12,000 inhabitants in the district of Passau, in the state of Bavaria, on the edge of the Bavarian Forest and not far from the Austrian border. Known as the "Granite Town," as the surrounding Bavarian granite mountains have shaped the regional economy for centuries (quarries, stonemasonry). Today, the region is a popular recreational destination with hiking trails, mill tours, and a surprisingly vibrant cultural life.
The date of November 15, 2026, falls into the quiet late autumn period of preparation for Advent – a deliberately chosen evening that ceremoniously concludes the Culture Weeks before the Advent markets begin in the Granite Town. With free seating and free admission, the concert is an accessible cultural experience for the entire region.
