About Hauzenberger Dult

The Hauzenberger Dult is the big Volksfest (traditional folk festival) of the granite town of Hauzenberg in the Lower Bavarian district of Passau and a firm fixture in the summer festival calendar of the Passau region. For five days, the festival grounds in the Bürgerpark in the middle of the town are transformed into a lively festival area with a festival tent, amusement rides, market stalls, and a varied program for the whole family. The Dult is opened with a festive parade of all local clubs from the Marienbrunnen to the festival grounds. Throughout the festival days, hearty folk festival parties, a seniors' day, a family day, a field mass with herb bush consecration, and free Punch and Judy shows alternate. The Dult, organized by the town of Hauzenberg, combines Bavarian customs with conviviality and is one of the most traditional Volksfests in the region.

Volksfest with a Long Tradition

The Hauzenberger Dult is one of the major Volksfests in the state of Bavaria, specifically in the district of Passau in Lower Bavaria. Over several decades, the festival in the granite town of Hauzenberg has become a firm social highlight. The Dult is organized by the town of Hauzenberg and takes place on the centrally located festival grounds at the Bürgerpark.

Festive Parade

The Dult traditionally begins with a grand parade: all local clubs march together from the Marienbrunnen in the town center to the festival grounds. This parade is an expression of the town's strong club life and sets the mood for five days of festivities for visitors and locals alike.

Five-Day Program

The program of the Hauzenberger Dult is diverse and aimed at all generations. Fixed components include a field mass with herb bush consecration, a seniors' day, a family day, free Punch and Judy shows for children, and every evening a Volksfest party with live music in the festival tent. Bavarian delicacies and a festival tent atmosphere with brass band music complete the offering.

Fun for the Whole Family

In addition to the festival tent, amusement rides, carousels, and market stalls attract visitors to the grounds at Bürgerpark. The family day with special offers makes the Dult a popular destination for families from Hauzenberg and the entire Passau region.

Granite Town Hauzenberg

Hauzenberg is known as the "Granite Town" – the regionally significant granite mining shapes the identity of the town in the Bavarian Forest near the three-country corner of Germany–Austria–Czech Republic. The Hauzenberger Dult is a vibrant expression of this regional rootedness and Bavarian festival culture.
