Oktoberfest atmosphere in the Hohenlohe metropolis — 8th edition 2026
The Künzelsau Wert-Wies'n is the major Volksfest (public festival) of the town of Künzelsau, the district capital of the Hohenlohekreis. Since 2018, the Künzelsau city administration has organized a four-day Oktoberfest-style Volksfest on the Wertwiesen directly on the Kocher river – with a large festival tent, Bavarian sound, Maßkrüge, Brezn, and amusement rides. 2026 marks the 8th edition.
For the peak days of Friday and Saturday, reservations are recommended: eight-person tables from €184 including one beer per person. Reservations via the Künzelsau city administration. Single tickets subject to availability at the box office.
The showman's association sets up its stalls around the festival tent: carousels, roller coaster, dodgems, food stalls, and shooting galleries. On Sunday, a flea market complements the program – a typical element of smaller Volksfeste in Württemberg-Franconia.
Künzelsau is the district capital of the Hohenlohekreis and home to important medium-sized companies (Würth, Berner, Optima). The Wertwiesen are located directly on the Kocher river, within walking distance of the city center. Those who wish to combine the Volksfest with culture can visit the nearby Würth Art Forum or take a short hike along the Kocher river.
The Künzelsau Wert-Wies'n 2026 takes place from Thursday, October 8th, to Sunday, October 11th, 2026, on the Wertwiesen in Künzelsau. It is the 8th edition of the festival.
The festival tent, amusement rides, and food stalls form the classic Volksfest program. On Thursday, the festival opens around 4 PM, DJ sound from 6 PM, free admission. Friday starts at 2 PM; the mayor performs the barrel tapping ceremony, and a live band plays in the festival tent in the evening. Saturday also opens at 2 PM; the festival evening with a live band is traditionally the busiest day. Sunday offers Weißwurst breakfast from 11 AM with folk musicians and a flea market from 11 AM to 4 PM, free admission.
Künzelsau is located on the B19 federal road between Schwäbisch Hall and Bad Mergentheim. Accessible via the Hohenlohebahn railway (Heilbronn–Künzelsau line), approx. 15 minutes on foot from Künzelsau station. Parking available around the Wertwiesen.
