May Day in Kahlgrund
The Krombacher Maifest is organized by the Musikverein 1964 Krombach and is one of the fixed spring highlights of the municipality of Krombach in Kahlgrund, district of Aschaffenburg in Lower Franconia, Bavaria. It is celebrated on the leisure area by the Krombachhalle on May 1st.
Brass Music and Frühschoppen
The festival begins at 11 am with a traditional Frühschoppen, accompanied musically by the Feldkahler Musikanten. In the early afternoon, the Krombacher Youth Orchestra and the Dörnsteinbach Traditional Costume Band will perform. A selection of hot dishes will be available throughout the day to satisfy your appetite.
The Fountain Queen – A Krombach Tradition
The highlight is the enthronement of the Krombacher Fountain Queen and Fountain Princess in the late afternoon, with the welcome and farewell of the reigning majesties and the election of the new ones. The tradition dates back to the first Fountain Queen in 1992 and is closely linked to the history of the association and the village.

Maifest Krombach — edition 2026
The Musikverein 1964 Krombach invites you on Friday, May 1, 2026, to the 31st Krombacher Maifest at the leisure area by the Krombachhalle. The festival begins at 11 am with a Frühschoppen, accompanied by the Feldkahler Musikanten.
Around 1:30 pm, the Krombacher Youth Orchestra will perform, and around 3 pm, the Dörnsteinbach Traditional Costume Band. The highlight at 5:30 pm is the enthronement of the 31st Fountain Queen Franzi Jung and Princess Laureen Hock, with the farewell of the reigning majesties. For the first time, the festival will conclude with live music from »Hü & the Hot's« from 6 pm to 10 pm.

Getting There
Krombach is located in Kahlgrund in the district of Aschaffenburg. By car via the A45 (exit Alzenau) and then towards Kahlgrund; by train with the Kahlgrundbahn to Krombach. The leisure area is located at the Krombachhalle.
