"5 Wine Marketers – 5 Locations – 1 Festival" in the middle of the blooming vineyards of Tauberfranken
The Königheimer Weinblüte is an extraordinary wine festival in Königheim, a Franconian-influenced municipality in the Main-Tauber district in northern Baden-Württemberg. The concept is unique in Tauberfranken: Instead of a central festival site, five wine marketers at five locations present their wines, their courtyards, and their specialties. You stroll on foot through the blooming wine village, discovering not only wines but also the architecture, the courtyards, and the people behind Königheim wine.
Königheim belongs to the Tauberfranken wine-growing region – one of the northernmost and coolest wine-growing regions in Baden-Württemberg. Fresh white wines are typical: Müller-Thurgau, Silvaner, Bacchus, as well as traditional red wines like Schwarzriesling and Tauberschwarz. The Weinblüte falls during the vegetation phase when the vines are blooming – a visually and atmospherically special moment in the wine year.
At each of the five locations, small culinary accompaniments await you with the wine: snack platters, Franconian wine classics, regional specialties, and homemade delicacies from the vintner families. This creates a diverse experience that replaces the classic wine festival hustle and bustle with a relaxed courtyard-to-courtyard atmosphere.
Musically, local musicians provide the ambiance in the courtyards – from acoustic live music to small combo ensembles to folk music. You set the pace: you linger where you enjoy the wine, specialties, and music, and move on when the next location beckons.
Königheim itself is a typical Franconian wine village with half-timbered houses, old courtyards, and small squares. Those who want to combine their journey with a short hike can walk from Tauberbischofsheim or Distelhausen to Königheim through the vineyards and enjoy the festival as a relaxed end to a hiking day.
The Königheimer Weinblüte 2026 takes place on Saturday, June 13, 2026, starting at 4 PM in the center of Königheim. The motto remains unchanged: "5 Wine Marketers – 5 Locations – 1 Festival".
You stroll on foot through the wine village, visiting the five locations (vintner courtyards and marketer courtyards) one after another, tasting Tauberfranken wines (Müller-Thurgau, Silvaner, Bacchus, Schwarzriesling, Tauberschwarz) and small culinary specialties. At each location, musicians play live or accompany the evening in a relaxed atmosphere. The exact program per location will be communicated via the community of Königheim's event calendar.
Königheim is located in the Main-Tauber district between Tauberbischofsheim and Boxberg. Accessible via the A81 (exit Tauberbischofsheim) and the B27. The nearest train station is Tauberbischofsheim (Würzburg–Lauda line), from there continue by bus or taxi.
Festival starts at 4:00 PM each day. The five locations are well signposted and reachable on foot.
Admission to the festival grounds is free. Wine, food, and drinks at the courtyards are subject to a charge.
Plan a walk through the entire village – only then will you experience the diversity of the five locations. Comfortable shoes and a sweater for the evening are recommended.
