Klanglandschaft Prignitz — Chamber Music in Unusual Locations

Klanglandschaft Prignitz is a concert series that brings classical chamber music to atmospheric venues in the Prignitz region every summer and autumn. Instead of classical concert halls, the series uses historic industrial buildings, rural cultural centres, historic engine sheds, and even private homes — a deliberate connection between high-quality music and unconventional atmosphere. The 2026 series includes six concerts between April and October.

Putlitz and the Alte Brennerei Nettelbeck

Putlitz is a small town in the Prignitz district, in the far northwest of Brandenburg. The Nettelbeck district is located just outside the main town. The Alte Brennerei Nettelbeck is a historic industrial building — formerly used for schnapps production — which is now experiencing a second phase of life as a cultural venue. The space offers unusual acoustics and an authentic historical atmosphere for concerts.

„Like a virgin" — The Image of Mary and Music

The concept of the concert “Like a virgin" (on July 26, 2026, 4 PM) explores the emotional diversity of the figure of Mary through music from the Renaissance and early Baroque periods. Mary — the biblical mother of Jesus — is one of the most multifaceted figures in Western musical history: Marian hymns, laments, joyful invocations, Marian litanies. The Ensemble false relations presents a program that exploits this range, from vocal and instrumental works to improvisations.

Getting There and the Region

Putlitz is accessible by car via the A24 (Berlin–Hamburg) and connecting roads. Arriving by train leads via Pritzwalk or Wittenberge. Klanglandschaft Prignitz operates off the beaten tourist track — a concert visit here ideally combines with a tour through the Brandenburg region, the historic Hanseatic towns of Wittenberge and Perleberg, or the natural landscape of the Prignitz. Tickets usually €14, reduced €9.
