Classical and chamber music series in extraordinary locations between Perleberg, Putlitz, and Wittenberge
The Prignitz in northwest Brandenburg is a sparsely populated landscape rich in nature and history, situated between the Elbe and Mecklenburg. Here, Klanglandschaft Prignitz brings high-caliber classical music to venues that are not typically part of the classical concert circuit: a salon in a private apartment, an old distillery in Putlitz, the historic Wittenberge railway shed, a gymnasium auditorium, a cultural weaving mill.
Programmatically, the series consistently moves beyond the narrower classical repertoire. Works from the Baroque and Renaissance periods meet jazz, flamenco, tango, and contemporary arrangements. The 2026 concerts range from an Easter brunch concert with soprano and saxophone to salon chamber music with piano and an early music program 'Engelswerk' featuring Genevan psalms and vocal music from the 16th and 17th centuries.
A selection of the 2026 venues: the Kulturkombinat Perleberg (municipal cultural space, soprano/saxophone), a private apartment at Wittenberger Straße 48, Perleberg (salon concert with pianist), the Alte Brennerei Nettelbeck in Putlitz (female voice and ensemble 'false relations'), the Historischer Lokschuppen Wittenberge (Bach's Brandenburg Concertos on Open Monument Day), the Kulturweberei Wittenberge (Flamenco meets Early Music), and the auditorium of the Gottfried-Arnold-Gymnasium Perleberg (Reformation concert 'Engelswerk').
The series attracts renowned soloists and ensembles to the Prignitz: soprano Fanny Lamers, saxophonist Leila Greifenhagen, pianist Emma Wielgosz, the vocal ensemble 'false relations', violinist and concertmaster Christoph Heidemann, the Basel-based ensemble 'Astrophil & Stella' with soprano Isabel Schicketanz, and the Wunderkammer Ensemble with Fandango & Flamenco.
