Village Fair on the Sports Field

The Kirmes Kleinottweiler is the annual village fair in the Bexbach district of Kleinottweiler. It traditionally takes place on the second Sunday in August and the following Monday — in the middle of the Saarland summer, when the days are long and the Saarpfalz-Kreis is in high summer.

Classic Saarland Program

Like many village fairs in Saarland, Kleinottweiler follows the proven schedule:

• Sunday: Opening at noon, church service or morning pint, family program in the afternoon, live music in the festival tent in the evening
• Kirmes Monday: Morning pint, family day with reduced carousel prices, winding down in the evening

Sports Field as Festival Ground

The festival ground is the village's own sports field — typical for smaller Saarland districts where the football club is also a co-organizer. This keeps costs low but also gives the festival the club atmosphere that characterizes a real village fair.

Kleinottweiler — Small District with its Own Identity

With just under 1,500 inhabitants, Kleinottweiler is one of the smaller districts of Bexbach. The town of Bexbach in the Saarpfalz-Kreis consists of six districts, each with its own identity and its own festivals. The Kleinottweiler Kirmes in early/mid-August is part of this chain that shapes the Bexbach festival calendar for half the year.
