Open-Air Festival at Strandbad Grünau on Langen See
The Blau Licht Beach Festival utilizes one of Berlin's most beautiful natural settings: the Strandbad Grünau on Langen See in the Grünau district (Treptow-Köpenick borough). The approximately 200-meter-long sandy beach area, framed by pine forest, is transformed into a one-day open-air festival with two stages once a summer.
The festival takes place simultaneously on two areas, with clearly separated musical styles:
The festival name “Blau Licht” plays on the German term for the blue flashing lights of police, fire, and rescue services. The organizers use this pun for a social initiative: Everyday Heroes (police, fire department, rescue services, healthcare, teachers) receive a free drink upon presentation of their professional ID. Thus, the festival also serves as a gesture of appreciation for professional groups who are usually outside the typical festival audience.
The Strandbad Grünau is one of Berlin's most traditional lidos, originally from the 1920s, and is located on Langen See – one of the most important recreational waters in Berlin's southeast. The lido is easily accessible by S-Bahn line S46 or Tram 68; there are no parking spaces available on site.
The festival is for ages 18 and over. Admission is €21.90 (Early Bird), €25.90 (Regular), €29.90 (Last Minute), plus booking fees. Payment on-site is cashless only – by card. Bottles, weapons, large bags, and pyrotechnics are prohibited.
The Blau Licht Beach Festival 2026 takes place on Saturday, June 6, 2026, from 2 PM to 10 PM at Strandbad Grünau. At the Beach Stage directly on Langen See, House and mainstream electronic sets will dominate, while the Forest Arena in the pine forest will offer harder and more experimental directions.
The headliners for 2026 are Berlin producers YouNotUs – one of the most successful German radio and DJ projects with multiple platinum awards and over a billion streams. Additionally, Plastik Funk and Bassmassage will perform on the main stage.
