Franconian Kerwa Tradition in the Haßberg Region
The Kirchweih Untermerzbach is one of the traditional village festivals in the Haßberge district. It is supported by the local associations of Untermerzbach, who organize a festival for several days every year at the beginning of September, combining tradition, customs, and conviviality. The venue is the VfL Untermerzbach sports grounds as well as the Baumann family's beer garden.

The centerpiece is the festival tent with brass band music and Franconian tavern culture. An ecumenical church consecration service in the Untermerzbach church traditionally marks a festive highlight. The festival is accompanied by amusement rides, a tombola, and a small animal and young animal show on the grounds of the small animal breeders.
Untermerzbach in the Haßberge Nature Park
The municipality of Untermerzbach is located in the northern Haßberge district, nestled in the hilly landscape of the Haßberge Nature Park. The Kirchweih is an important date in the village's annual calendar, bringing together locals and visitors from the surrounding area.

In 2026, the local associations of Untermerzbach are once again inviting you to the traditional Kirchweih. Based on previous dates (2025: September 4–7), the festival is expected in early September 2026. The venue will be, as usual, the VfL Untermerzbach sports grounds and the Baumann beer garden.
The program includes a festival tent with brass band music, an ecumenical church consecration service, a small animal and young animal show, amusement rides, and a tombola. The exact dates will be announced by the local associations and Haßberge Tourism.
