Franconian Kerwa in West Middle Franconia

The Kirchweih – known as »Kerwa« in the Franconian dialect – is one of the most important traditional festivals in Middle Franconia. Steinach an der Ens is a district of the municipality of Gallmersgarten in the Neustadt an der Aisch-Bad Windsheim district in the Free State of Bavaria. Here, the Kirchweih is celebrated for several days every October.

Kerwabaum and Kirchweih Parade

The decorated Kerwabaum and the festive atmosphere in the local inns are integral parts of the Franconian Kirchweih. The Kirchweih parade, organized by the Evangelische Landjugend Steinach, is particularly well-known – a traditional component of the Kerwa that involves the village's youth.
