About Kerwa Presseck
Kerwa Presseck — edition 2026
The official event calendar of Markt Presseck confirms the Kerwa for the weekend of October 9th to 11th, 2026. As every year, Kirchweih Sunday is the centerpiece: festive church service, Frühschoppen (morning pint), and a packed afternoon with brass music and dancing. The joint opening on Friday evening and the relaxed closing on Sunday round off the festival weekend.
A gastronomic highlight follows directly after the festival: on Thursday, October 15th, TSV Presseck invites you to the Schlachtschüsselessen at the sports club — the traditional Franconian "Wellfleisch variation" from fresh slaughter with sauerkraut and bread.

Kerwa in Presseck — Tradition in the Frankenwald Nature Park
When the beech trees on the Pressecker Knock glow golden in October, Markt Presseck invites you to its traditional Kirchweih. For three days, the village in the Kulmbach district celebrates its Franconian identity: the patron saint's festival, festive church service, and communal celebration have been the annual highlight of every place in the Frankenwald for centuries.
Presseck — Mountain air at 646 meters
With around 1,600 inhabitants, Presseck is located on a plateau in the Frankenwald Nature Park, Kulmbach district, Bavaria. The village is considered a popular starting point for hikes, mountain bike tours, and in winter for cross-country skiing — the region is therefore also marketed as "Wäldla". The Kerwa is the annual opportunity to experience village life in its most authentic form.
What makes the Pressecker Kerwa special
The Pressecker Kerwa is one of those Franconian festivals where the distinction between locals and guests quickly dissolves. Over the weekend, you can expect:
- Festive church service and procession on Kirchweih Sunday
- Franconian specialties and beer from regional breweries
- Dancing and live music in inns or festival tents
- The famous Schlachtschüsselessen for Kerwa as a culinary highlight
Region and Travel
A Kerwa in the Frankenwald is particularly worthwhile because visiting the festival can be wonderfully combined with a hike around the Pressecker Knock or a detour to the Höllental. Those who appreciate beer and snacks as travel motives have also arrived on the Beer and Castle Route — the region between Kulmbach, Kronach, and Bayreuth is considered one of the densest brewery regions in Europe.
