The Kirchweih Ottensoos is a traditional Franconian Kärwa in the Nürnberger Land district. Every year in June, the Ottensoos Kirwaboum and Madla celebrate around the village square and pond with bird soup, a erected Kirwabaum (Maypole), and a cozy Frühschoppen (morning pint). The highlight is the traditional folk song singing on Kirchweihsamstag (Fair Saturday). Numerous showmen provide entertainment and catering. The Kirchweih Ottensoos – 'Ottensooser Kärwa' for short – is an integral part of village customs in the Nürnberger Land district.
