Traditional Kirchweih around the Rothachhalle with riflemen and brass band
The Kirchweih Mönchsroth is jointly supported by all local clubs and takes place around the Rothachhalle. For three days, it combines tradition, church service, and conviviality into a festival for young and old.
The riflemen in front of the Rothachhalle provide a loud opening. Before that, the guests of honour, accompanied by a brass band, march from the village church to the hall, where the mayor taps the first Kirchweih keg.
The fixed program includes the Kirchweih festival church service in the village church, the Kirchweih skittles in the local inn, and the evening raffle of the 'Kerwa-Sau'. A traditional town hall meeting, where the mayor looks back on the work of the municipal council, is also part of the Kerwa.
The Kirchweih Mönchsroth is a living example of the Kirchweih culture of West Middle Franconia – supported by the commitment of the clubs and the entire village community.
The Kirchweih Mönchsroth 2026 will be celebrated from August 2nd to 4th around the Rothachhalle, with the participation of all local clubs.
The opening will be on Saturday around 7:30 PM by the riflemen 'Berg und Tal' Regelsweiler in front of the Rothachhalle. Before that, the guests of honour, accompanied by the Eigner brass band, will march from the village church to the hall, where Mayor Franziska Mattmann will tap the first Kirchweih keg. Sunday will feature the festive church service and the raffle of the 'Kerwa-Sau', and Monday the Kirchweih skittles and the town hall meeting.
Mönchsroth is located in the Ansbach district in southwestern Middle Franconia. The festival venue is the Rothachhalle in the village.
