The Kirchweih Kammerstein is a traditional Franconian Kärwa in the Roth district. For four days, the Kärwaboum and Kärwamädli organize a lively folk festival on the festival grounds at Ramungusweg with a beer tapping ceremony, the festive raising of the approximately 30-meter-high Kärwabaum (fairground tree), a celebratory church service in St. George's Church, a traditional parade, and rides for children. Good music, Franconian beer, and conviviality make the Kärwa the highlight of village life.

Franconian Kärwa Tradition in the Roth District

The Kirchweih Kammerstein – the »Kärwa« – is a fixed traditional event in the municipality of Kammerstein in the Roth district, Bavaria. It is supported by the Kärwaboum and Kärwamädli, around 60 young volunteers who organize the festival with great dedication.

Four Days of Folk Festival on the Fairgrounds

The venue is the festival grounds at Ramungusweg in Kammerstein. Over four days, the Kärwa offers lively entertainment, good music, good beer, good food, as well as rides and shooting galleries for children. The setup alone takes about a week – a feat that impressively demonstrates the voluntary commitment in the village.

Raising the Kärwabaum

The highlight is the raising of the approximately 30-meter-high Kärwabaum – a traditional custom accomplished with great strength and skill. This is complemented by the beer tapping ceremony, the decorating of the children's tree, and catering by various local groups.

Festive Church Service and Parade

Kärwa Sunday begins with the festive church service in St. George's Church at 10:00 AM. At 2:00 PM, the traditional parade through the town follows, with numerous clubs and groups participating – a colorful declaration of Franconian festival culture.

Living Village Community

The Kärwa Kammerstein stands for togetherness and lived tradition. After a break of several years, it has returned and reaffirmed its status as the highlight of the event calendar in the municipality in the Franconian Lake District near Brombachsee.
