Traditional Franconian Kirchweih on the last weekend of July on the village square
The Kirchweih Heroldsbach is the central Kerwa of the municipality in the Upper Franconian district of Forchheim. It takes place every year on the last weekend of July on the village square and is a social highlight in village life.
The Kirchweih includes a festive church service, the erection of the Kerwabaum, traditional brass band music, and the convivial gathering of the village community. The customs are upheld by the Kerwaburschen and Kerwamadla as well as the Heimat- und Trachtenverein Heroldsbach e.V.
Heroldsbach particularly cherishes its Kirchweih tradition: In addition to the main Kerwa on the village square, the districts also celebrate their own Kirchweihen throughout the year. The Kerwa in Heroldsbach itself is considered the highlight of this Franconian festival calendar.
The Kirchweih Heroldsbach combines faith, customs, and sociability. It is firmly anchored in the village's annual cycle and attracts locals and guests from the surrounding area.
Heroldsbach will celebrate its traditional Kirchweih on the village square on the last weekend of July, July 25 and 26, 2026. As every year, a festive church service, the erection of the Kerwabaum, brass band music, and convivial gathering will be the focus.
The Kerwaburschen and Kerwamadla, along with the Heimat- und Trachtenverein Heroldsbach e.V., will shape the customs and ensure a lively Franconian Kirchweih for the entire village community.
The detailed program will be announced by the municipality and associations before the Kirchweih.
Heroldsbach is located in the Forchheim district between Forchheim and Erlangen. The Kirchweih takes place on the village square in the town center.
Traditionally on the last weekend of July.
