Traditional Franconian Kirchweih in the Ansbach district
The Kirchweih Adelshofen – the "Adelshofener Kerwa" – is a fixed date in the customs calendar of the municipality of Adelshofen in the West Middle Franconia district of Ansbach. The Kerwa is organized by the Bayern Fanclub Adelshofen together with the Kerwa-Buam und -Madli, who transform the Dürr family's machine hall into a festively decorated Kerwa hall year after year.
Friday kicks off with an 80s-90s-2000s party with a DJ. Saturday follows with the official beer tapping ceremony by Mayor Johannes Schneider with beer from Landwehr Bräu Reichelshofen, followed by a Kirchweih dance with live music. A special highlight is the new edition of the successful men's Kirchweih ballet by the Kerwa-Buam.
The Adelshofener Kerwa thrives on the commitment of the Bayern Fanclub and the young Kerwa society. It combines the church's patronal feast, Franconian Kirchweih procession, and exuberant festival atmosphere, making it an attraction for the entire West Middle Franconia region.
