The Inselzauber festival is exactly what its name promises: a magical moment in Wangerooge's island life when the Appellplatz fills with international artists, acrobats, and fire show performers. For two evenings, the island village transforms into an open-air stage.

Top-Class Acrobatics

International acrobatics acts showcase their skills: ground and aerial acrobatics, hand-to-hand performances, juggling, and balancing acts. The proximity to the audience at the Appellplatz makes every detail tangible.

Comedy and Improvisation

Comedians and improvisation artists make the audience laugh. Cross-lingual performances work well for international audiences and are a highlight for families.

Fire Show as the Climax

As dusk falls – performances continue until 9:30 PM – the fire show acts become the visual highlight. Fire swords, poi dancing, and burning hoops dance against the island backdrop.

Artists from Several Countries

The acts come from Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, France, Spain, and other countries – an international lineup that the Kurverwaltung Wangerooge curates anew each year.

Appellplatz as the Island Stage

The historic Appellplatz in the island village provides the ideal setting: centrally located, with cafés and restaurants in sight, and the distinctive West Tower in the background.
