Cinema for Children in the Hofer Land
Every January, the Kinderfilmfest Hofer Land brings big cinema to children. The venue is the traditional Central-Kino in Hof. Over two days, a diverse program of more than 20 films for different age groups is shown.

Especially for the youngest, there are free screenings »First Time at the Cinema« with short films for children aged 2 and up.
Volunteering as a Role Model
The children's film festival is largely organized by young volunteers and serves as a role model for civic engagement. It is supported by the Hofer Land region, the city of Hof, the district of Hof, and the Central-Kino.

The 34th Kinderfilmfest Hofer Land ran on January 24 and 25, 2026, at the Central-Kino in Hof. A diverse program featuring over 20 films was shown, including classics like Pumuckl and Heidi, as well as new releases like »Die Schule der magischen Tiere 4« and »Ein Mädchen namens Willow«. The focus was on live-action films.
Actresses Ava Petsch and Annika Benzin were guests on both days for autographs and Q&A sessions. The supporting program included a stand for designing fabric backpacks, a photo booth, and juggling.
