Summer Light Festival in Wieda

The Wieda leuchtet Festival – Wieda Lights Up is a relatively young event on the southern Harz summer calendar, consciously positioning itself as a modern light festival with a culinary focus. The venue is the Wieda barbecue area, Am Kreuztal 45, a park-like festival ground on the outskirts of the Wieda valley.

Light Installations and Atmosphere

The character of the festival is defined by its light installations: LED fairy lights in the trees, illuminated paths, and artfully designed light elements at the barbecue area and in the park sections create a magical atmosphere after sunset, giving the event its name. The light design is set up by volunteers in the days leading up to the festival.

Wine Bar with Cocktails and Snacks

Characteristic and rather unusual in the southern Harz region, which is otherwise dominated by beer and schnapps festivals, is the wine bar with a cocktail selection. Wieda leuchtet thus positions itself as an event that aims to appeal to a different target group with its stylish and atmospheric approach compared to traditional club festivals. Snacks and light meals complement the culinary offerings.

Live Music and Dancing

A live band or DJ provides the musical accompaniment. The program ranges from acoustic cover classics and lounge sounds to danceable pop and disco hits. The open-air dance area is designed as a central meeting point.
