20th Edition in Six Decades of Tradition
The Fronhofen Children's and Heritage Festival was first celebrated in 1966 and has taken place at multi-year intervals ever since. In 2026, it will celebrate its 20th edition — and thus 60 years of tradition as the great heritage festival of the Schussental valley. From June 19 to 22, the festival tent will open at the Fronhofen festival grounds, a district of the municipality of Fronreute in the Ravensburg district.
Heritage Evening, Festival Parade, and Festival Tent
Festival Friday begins with the traditional Heritage Evening under the festival tent — an evening with regional costume bands, heritage songs, and members of local clubs. Saturday is the big flea market day, coordinated by Carina Hager. Sunday is dedicated to the grand parade through Fronhofen with costume groups, music clubs, floats from the clubs, and the Heritage Commission. Monday concludes with a Frühshoppen (morning pint) and children's program.
Children in Focus
As the name suggests, children are the focus of the festival: face painting, bouncy castle, game stations from schools and kindergartens, carousel, and the traditional children's program in the festival tent. The Heritage Commission asks for donations at each festival, which they use to support participating schools, kindergartens, and clubs.
Anniversary Exhibition — 60 Years of Festival
As a special highlight of the 20th edition, an anniversary exhibition will be organized, documenting the 60-year history of the festival with photos, parade floats, program booklets, and eyewitness accounts. A tribute to generations of festival commissions, clubs, and families who sustain the festival.
