Five days of cabaret, comedy, and music at Kaseshof near Fronhofen — Oberschwaben's most charming cultural festival
Over the years, the Einhaldenfestival has developed its own unique character: not a classic open-air event, not purely a cabaret tent, but a curated mix of music, comedy, film, and encounters. Organized by the cultural association Einhalden e.V., the festival has been held for years on the family-run Kaseshof on the outskirts of Fronhofen — a district of the Fronreute municipality in the Oberschwaben region of Ravensburg, Baden-Württemberg.
The 2026 program structure follows the proven pattern: Wednesday opens with a film premiere and a concert by Foaie Verde, including the documentary 'Soulfood Balkan Style'. Thursday belongs to the Franconian-Palatinate cabaret star Michl Müller with Berta Epple as the opening act. Friday is dedicated to jazz: trumpeter Joo Kraus celebrates his 60th stage anniversary with the reformed Sirius Quartet from New York. Saturday is family day with free afternoon admission — in the evening, Toni & Max Uthoff take the stage with their father-son cabaret show 'Einer zu viel', accompanied by pianist Ralf Schmid. Sunday concludes with the traditional Weißwurst (white sausage) matinee by the Heinz-Hübner-Salonorchester.
The festival's charm stems from its location: an old barn serves as the main stage, in the courtyard garden, the audience sits on beer benches among apple trees, with the rolling foothills of the Allgäu in the background. Catering is regional — sausages from the neighborhood butcher, wine from Baden, beer from Ravensburg. Families will find the Maulwurf (Mole) children's program on Saturday afternoon with free admission from 2 PM to 6 PM.
The Ravensburg district is dotted with small, ambitious cultural formats like the Internationale Wolfegger Konzerte or the Kulturfestival Schloss Achberg. The Einhaldenfestival stands out as perhaps the most programmatically diverse: a festival that dares to mix jazz and cabaret, high culture and farmyard atmosphere, without compromising its identity.
The fifth festival week maintains the proven format: a main act each evening in the main barn, a family program on Saturday afternoon with free admission, and the traditional salon orchestra matinee on Sunday. The mix of cabaret and jazz, complemented by a film program and children's shows, is the festival's signature.
Organizer Kulturverein Einhalden e.V. is increasingly focusing on artists with their own programs rather than pure tribute acts in 2026. Joo Kraus celebrates his 60th stage anniversary at Kaseshof — a premiere that elevates the festival beyond the regional level.
