Largest regional consumer exhibition in North Hesse
For years, the Kasseler Herbst-Ausstellung has been the most important regional consumer exhibition in northern Hesse. Across eleven halls and 30,000 m² of exhibition space, around 400 exhibitors present a wide range of offerings to visitors from the Kassel, Göttingen, Bad Hersfeld, and northern Werra-Meißner district regions – from kitchen studios to motorhome dealers, from organic beekeepers to plumbing specialists.
The layout follows a clear thematic concept: Halls 1–2 for Building, Renovation, and Design, Halls 3–4 for Practical Items, Culinary Delights, and Beauty, Hall 5 for Leisure, Mobility, and Creative Trends, Halls 10–11 for the annually changing special exhibition, Halls 12–13 for Cars and Mobility. The outdoor areas are dedicated to enjoyment and garden themes.
A hallmark of the Herbst-Ausstellung is its special exhibition, which showcases a different theme each year in Halls 10 and 11. In 2025, it led visitors through a lovingly designed fantasy world under the title "Märchenzauber" (Fairy Tale Magic). The offerings are complemented by an action stage featuring demonstrations, creative and cake decorating workshops, and childcare.
The organizer is Messe Kassel GmbH, a municipal enterprise of the documenta city. With the Spring Exhibition and Autumn Exhibition, it organizes the two central consumer trade fairs in the region. The Herbst-Ausstellung traditionally runs for nine days in early October – including two weekends – and attracts up to 200,000 visitors.
Messe Kassel is located in the south of the city on Damaschkestraße 55. Accessible by car via the A49 motorway (Kassel-Auestadion exit) or A7; by KVG tram line 5 (stop "Heinrich-Schütz-Allee") directly from the city center. Large parking lot at the exhibition grounds.
The 2026 edition spans two full weekends and once again fills all eleven halls of Messe Kassel. Themed weekends structure the nine days: the opening weekend is dedicated to Health & Beauty Days, and the closing weekend to Creative Time. Additionally, there's a central special exhibition in Halls 10 and 11.
Day ticket adults €7, reduced (seniors/students) €6, afternoon ticket (from 2:30 PM) €4. Children aged 6–17 €2, under 6 free. Family pass available. Tickets directly at the exhibition entrance or online.
