The Kirchweih – called "Kärwa" or "Kerwa" in Franconia – shapes the region's festival life from May until autumn. In the Lind district of Zirndorf in the district of Fürth (Bavaria), the Kärwa traditionally takes place early in the year, thus serving as the season opening for Zirndorf and the district of Fürth – the convivial kick-off to a whole series of Kirchweihen.
