Free Rock and Metal Festival in Lippe
Lüdenhausen, with just under 1,700 inhabitants, is one of the largest districts of the Lippe municipality of Kalletal — and for one weekend in September 2026, it's the loudest meadow in Ostwestfalen. The Kalletal Rockt Festival takes place on the festival grounds on the outskirts of town and brings Rock, Hardcore, and Metal bands from the region and all of Northern Germany to two stages.
What makes Kalletal Rockt special is its free admission concept: The festival was founded to give regional bands a stage that otherwise have few opportunities to perform at a festival size. Free admission, affordable camping, professional stage technology — the whole thing is financed through the food concept ('Food & Rock'), sponsors, and donations. In its 18 years of existence, it has provided many an underground act from the Lippe region to Hanover and Hamburg with their first major stage.
The festival is genre-open, but loud:
The band lineup for 2026 will be published in the summer of 2026 on the festival website kalletal-rockt.de and the Facebook page. Previous editions regularly featured acts such as 68FL:OZ, Böse Fuchs & Sly, Herzlos, Linie 6, MetalMind, Null Positiv, Paradoxxon, Reason for Jack, The Gäs, Todsünde, and Weber & Knechte. Over 18 bands over two days is the usual program density.
There is a campsite directly adjacent to the festival grounds with space for several hundred tents. Experience shows this is affordable (often free or for a small protective fee) and for many festival-goers, it's the main attraction — Kalletal Rockt is not just music, but also a camping community weekend. The Food & Rock concept offers a diverse gastronomic selection: burgers, fries, vegetarian options, regional classics, beer, and drinks.
The municipality of Kalletal is located in the northeastern Lippe region, on the Weser bend and at the edge of the Lippe Uplands. With around 14,000 inhabitants, it is a typical rural municipality in the region. The Kalletal Rockt Festival draws people from the Lippe region off their sofas and brings together people from Detmold, Lemgo, Bad Salzuflen, Vlotho, and the adjacent Weser region — as a regional end-of-summer festival.
One of the association labels that Kalletal Rockt collaborates with is Trollzorn Records — a German label for Pagan, Viking, and Folk Metal. This cooperation shapes the genre slant at least partially and distinguishes Kalletal Rockt from purely punk-focused festivals.
The 2026 festival runs for two days from noon until late at night. Two stages will be used alternately, with DJ sets from the Punk/Metal scene filling the breaks between acts. The full lineup will be announced in the summer of 2026; previous editions have featured bands like 68FL:OZ, Herzlos, Linie 6, MetalMind, Null Positiv, Reason for Jack, Weber & Knechte, and Trollzorn labelmates on stage.
Saturday, September 7, 2026 — Opening, first sets from noon, main bands in the evening. Two stages, used alternately.
Sunday, September 8, 2026 — Second festival day, more acts from the region and Northern Germany. Closes late in the evening.
Expected range: Punk Rock, Rock, Hardcore, Heavy Metal, Pagan/Viking/Folk Metal (Trollzorn acts). Full lineup from summer 2026 on kalletal-rockt.de and the Facebook page.
Free admission. Affordable camping (protective fee approx. €5–10). Food and drinks at the food stalls at fair festival prices (burgers approx. €8, beer €3–4).
By Car: B238 to Kalletal, then follow signs for 'Lüdenhausen Festivalgelände'. Parking on surrounding meadows. By Train: RB72 / RB73 to Lemgo or Vlotho, then bus or taxi (approx. 15–20 min.). Connections are usually improved by special buses on festival weekends.
Bring a tent — the camping concept is part of the festival. Sturdy footwear, rain gear (September in the Lippe Uplands can be unpredictable), plan your water supply. Bring cash — food stalls prefer cash. The festival is not primarily family-friendly — the main target group is 16–35.
