A Cultural Summer for a Lippe Village
The Taller Kultursommer is a young festival format from Kalletal in the northeasternmost corner of North Rhine-Westphalia (Lippe district). The organizer is the Heimat- und Zieglerverein Talle — a traditional village institution dedicated to preserving local customs (especially the brickmaker tradition). With the Kultursommer, the association is setting a new cultural accent for the village and the region.
Second Edition 2026 — More Music, Now Also Indoors
The premiere in 2025 was a clear success and motivated the organizing team — consisting of Dunja Raimann, Werner Prüßner, Elisabeth Webel, and Rainer Dubbert — to pursue a more ambitious second edition in 2026. Three significant changes:
- More Music: the program will be significantly expanded musically
- Cooperation with the Church Community: for the first time, indoor events will also be part of the program — in the church or the community center
- Early Season Start: the format begins as early as spring 2026, with events spread over several months
Exact Dates 2026
At the time of compilation, the exact dates for 2026 have not yet been publicly announced — the Lippische Landes-Zeitung reported on the plans in spring 2026, and the detailed program will be published in spring. Events are expected from May to September 2026.
The Berggarten — Main Venue
The venue is the Berggarten of Talle, a small, charming landscape park in the village — created by the Heimat- und Zieglerverein as the green heart of the place. With old trees, paths, and small water features, it provides an atmospheric backdrop for concerts, readings, and cultural encounters. In case of bad weather or in the evening, the indoor spaces of the church community will be used.
With Great Passion
What distinguishes the Taller Kultursommer is the voluntary commitment of a small group of villagers. The format is not a professionalized festival — it thrives on the passion of the organizers, the volunteer support group, and the assistance of local associations. This results in the special, personal character of the events.
Talle and Kalletal
Talle is a district of the municipality of Kalletal in the extreme northeast of North Rhine-Westphalia — at the transition to the Weser Uplands. Kalletal, with around 14,500 inhabitants, consists of several historic villages that have retained their identity. Talle is known for its brickmaking tradition — hence the double name "Heimat- und Zieglerverein" (Local Heritage and Brickmakers Association).
