Island-wide Pyrotechnic Spectacle on October 3rd on the Baltic Sea Beach
The Kaiserbäder XXL Beach Fireworks are one of Germany's most spectacular pyrotechnic events. Instead of a single fireworks show, several Baltic Sea resorts on Usedom Island jointly stage a continuous spectacle stretching along the entire Kaiser coast. The seaside resort of Karlshagen kicks things off at 7:30 PM, followed every ten minutes by the next resort: Zinnowitz, Koserow, and finally the Kaiserbäder Bansin, Heringsdorf, and Ahlbeck.
For approximately 80 minutes, high-altitude fireworks will rise into the sky over the Baltic Sea, one after another from each participating resort. In total, the staging extends over around 42 kilometers of coastline. Those strolling along the beach promenade in the Kaiserbäder can spot the preceding fireworks from the western resorts on the horizon – an unusual visual effect.
The event takes place every year on October 3rd, the German national holiday. In the Kaiserbäder of Ahlbeck, Heringsdorf, and Bansin, the grand finale forms the climax. The municipality of Ostseebad Heringsdorf belongs to the district of Vorpommern-Greifswald, while the other resorts are located further west in the island's center.
Restaurants, beach bars, and snack stands open around the promenades in all participating resorts. Many hotels offer special fireworks packages, and some beachfront hotels have VIP seating with direct sea views. The Usedomer Bäderbahn (UBB) increases its service frequency on the fireworks evening, allowing guests to travel between the resorts.
