Jubiläumsklänge – Great Music Festival Waidhaus

Four Decades of Brass Music in the Upper Palatinate

The Waidhaus Music Association was founded in 1986 and has shaped the musical landscape in the market town of Waidhaus, a traditional border town in the Neustadt an der Waldnaab district, ever since. 40 years of association work mean generations of musicians who were trained in their own brass school, performances at Kirchweihen (church consecrations) and festivals throughout the region, and a continuous commitment to the Upper Palatinate brass music tradition.

Jubiläumsklänge — The Association's Own Celebration Day

Within the anniversary year 2026, the celebration day "Jubiläumsklänge" on July 25 takes a central position. While the District Music Festival with a Star March on June 21 is supported by external bands from the Neustadt/WN district, July 25 is the day when the Music Association itself presents its skills: preparatory orchestra, youth band, main orchestra, and ensembles each perform their program.

Music Fair with Exhibitors

Accompanying the concert program is a large music fair with numerous exhibitors from the brass music sector: instrument makers, music publishers, uniform and costume suppliers, association equipment. For other music associations in the region, this is a good opportunity to compare materials and make contacts — for private visitors, a curious showcase of the world of brass music.

Schoolyard as Festival Stage

The festival grounds are the Waidhaus schoolyard; in case of bad weather, it will move to the gymnasium. The schoolyard and sports field have been proven festival locations for the MV Waidhaus's association festivals for years — centrally located, with space for the stage, festival tent, and market stalls of the music fair.

In the Anniversary Year

The "Jubiläumsklänge" are part of a series of celebratory events: celebratory church service and Grand Tattoo on June 6, 2026, District Music Festival on June 21, and the celebration day with music fair on July 25. Those who want to follow the entire anniversary year will have ample opportunity in the summer of 2026.
