Tips
Arrive at the hall around 7:30 PM to find a good spot before the show begins. The Soul Survivors prefer a dancing crowd – the spots near the stage and at the edges are ideal. If you haven't seen Jimmy Reiter live, today is an excellent opportunity – he is considered one of Germany's best blues guitarists.
Jazz and Blues at the Pader Spring
For decades, Jazzclub Paderborn e.V. has been the central hub of the local jazz and blues scene. With its annual Jazz & Blues Party at the PaderHalle, it hosts a festival in a ballroom format: four bands in a row, all live, no DJ to fill gaps. The format has established itself – the 14th edition in 2026 confirms a proven concept.
When and Where is the Concert?
The 14th Jazz & Blues Party 2026 will take place on Saturday, February 21, 2026, at 8:00 PM in the PaderHalle (Heiersmauer 45, 33098 Paderborn). Stage and hall seating, with tables and counters.
The Four Bands
Soul Survivors (Netherlands)
A Dutch soul and funk band with "rich brass sound, funky grooves, and charismatic vocals." Focused on classic soul and R&B standards from the 60s and 70s, complemented by their own arrangements. Established in the Dutch funk scene.
Henk Kraeijeveld & Band (Netherlands)
Dutch singer Henk Kraeijeveld and his band present a broad repertoire of jazz, pop, and soul. Catchy melodies, good band arrangements, clear vocals – an evening of songs with band accompaniment in an international format.
Letvian Blues Band (Latvia)
One of the best-known blues bands from Latvia (spelled "Letvian" in their own style instead of "Latvian"). They bring traditional blues, funk, and rock'n'roll to the stage, with Eastern European energy and a strong instrumental focus.
Jimmy Reiter Band (Germany)
The local hero: Jimmy Reiter, one of Germany's most distinguished blues guitarists, with his band. A "powerful set of blues, funk, and soul" with strong band interplay and Reiter's characteristically dense guitar playing.
PaderHalle as a Stage
The PaderHalle is the most important event center in the city of Paderborn and is centrally located in the city center, near the main train station. For concerts, classic theater seating is supplemented by standing room and tables – fitting well with the jazz club tradition: sit, listen, stand up and dance in between.
Jazzclub Paderborn e.V.
The organizer is Jazzclub Paderborn e.V., one of the oldest and most active jazz clubs in Westphalia. Club venue at Krämerstraße 8-10. The club organizes concerts, jam sessions, and workshops throughout the year – the Jazz & Blues Party is its annual major event.
Paderborn as a Jazz City
Paderborn is the district capital of the Paderborn district and has around 155,000 inhabitants. Known primarily for its cathedral with the Three Rabbits window, the Pader springs, and the university. The jazz and blues scene is surprisingly vibrant: in addition to Jazzclub Paderborn, there are several live venues in the city center where bands regularly perform. The Jazz & Blues Party at the PaderHalle is the annual highlight of this scene.
