Wine Presentation at the Roter Hang & RieslingLounge (35th Edition)

The Roter Hang between Nierstein and Nackenheim is one of Germany's most famous wine-growing areas. The striking steep slope of red marl, which descends towards the Rhine, produces some of the most mineral, precise, and long-lived Rieslings in the world. Sites like Pettenthal, Hipping, Brudersberg, Oelberg, and Orbel are among Rheinhessen's classified top sites and are managed by a number of renowned wineries – including several VDP members.

The Wine Presentation at the Roter Hang has been the annual showcase for this top region for over three decades. In 2026, the 35th edition will take place on the weekend of June 12th to 13th. The vintners from the Roter Hang present their current vintages in a concentrated format that combines top-class wine, expert exchange, and a relaxed atmosphere.

The RieslingLounge is the central format of the event. Here, Rieslings from the Roter Hang are served in their best styles: estate wines, village wines, first growths, grand cru (Große Gewächse), older vintages for comparison, and – depending on the producer – also noble sweet specialties such as Spätlese, Auslese, Beerenauslese, and Trockenbeerenauslese. A Riesling showcase of the highest caliber, comparable to the major Riesling tastings of other top regions.

In addition, Spätburgunder, Frühburgunder, Silvaner, Weißburgunder, Grauburgunder, Rosé, and Sekt from the participating wineries will also be served. The culinary offerings are matched to the quality of the wines: regional specialties, cheese platters, tarte flambée, and, depending on the day, special dishes that pair well with the wine.

The opening takes place on Friday, June 12th, 2026, at 6 PM; doors open at 4 PM. On Saturday, June 13th, 2026, the event is open from 1 PM. The Wine Presentation at the Roter Hang has been awarded as "Rheinhessen EXCELLENT Wine Festival" and is a must-visit for anyone interested in top German wine.
