Two days of Irish music, dance, and encounters on the ufaFabrik summer stage
The Irish Festival Berlin was founded in 2018 by a group of Irish women and men living in Berlin who brought the pop-up format of Dublin's trad sessions to the capital. The festival has grown annually since its inception — in 2026, it marks its 9th edition. The venue, as always, is the ufaFabrik in Berlin's Tempelhof district: an alternative cultural complex with an open-air summer stage, known in Berlin's scene for its reliable programming of international world music.
The 2026 lineup includes acts from Dublin and Berlin: Beeswing, the Dublin pub session trio from the legendary O'Donahue's Pub, with dance partners Nicole Ohnesorge and Gyula Glaser (Irish Dance Champions). Other bands: Tricia Collins Duo (traditional Irish Folk), Am Dúnta (energetic Irish Trad), Nightlark (contemporary Irish Folk), Urban Beats Irish Dance Academy and Tap Connection (dance performances), Doc MacDooley (storytelling and fairy tales). Saturday evening: Cèilidh — the traditional Irish group dance with instructions for all generations.
The ufaFabrik in Tempelhof is one of Germany's oldest alternative cultural communes. Occupied by artists in 1976, the former UFA film site was legalized in the 1980s and transformed into a cultural center. Today, the complex houses an open-air summer stage, an organic food store, a restaurant, a theater school, a children's circus, a permaculture garden, and an International Cultural Centre.
From Friday, August 14th, to Saturday, August 15th, 2026, the 9th edition of the Irish Festival Berlin will take place on the open-air summer stage of the ufaFabrik in Tempelhof. Two days of Irish music, dance, and encounters with acts from Dublin and Berlin, a photo exhibition by Finn Coleman, and the pop-up Irish Shop Berlin. Highlight on Saturday evening: the Cèilidh — the traditional Irish group dance with instructions for beginners and advanced dancers. Tickets from €25 day ticket, €40 festival pass.
