Wine Culture in the Market Town of Ipsheim

The Ipsheim Wine Festival is organized by the Ipsheim Winegrowers' Association (Weinbauverein Ipsheim e.V.) and has been an integral part of the regional festival calendar for over 30 years. The market town of Ipsheim is located in the Neustadt an der Aisch-Bad Windsheim district in western Middle Franconia and is one of the characteristic wine towns along the Bocksbeutelstraße, the Franconian Wine Route. The wine festival honors the centuries-old winegrowing tradition of the town and its winegrowing families.

Schedule of the Festival Weekend

The festival traditionally spans the second weekend of September:

• Friday: Official opening by the Ipsheim Wine Queen, followed by festival music
• Saturday: Lively music in the festival tent, serving of Ipsheim wines
• Sunday: Wine, coffee, cake, and dancing with the Ipsheim Music Association

The focus is on the wines of the Ipsheim vintners – Franconian wines, often in the typical Bocksbeutel bottle, complemented by Franconian delicacies and a convivial festival atmosphere.

The Ipsheim Wine Queen

The opening by the Ipsheim Wine Queen is an integral part of the festival's start. As an ambassador for Franconian wine, she represents the town and its vintners and officially opens the festival at Bacchusplatz.

Ipsheim is among the northernmost wine-growing communities in Franconia. The Bocksbeutelstraße connects the Franconian wine towns and makes the region accessible to wine lovers.
