36th Classical Festival in Wolfegg Castle, Old Parish Church, and Parish Church — Artistic Direction Manfred Honeck
2026
About Wolfegger Konzerte
Wolfegger Konzerte — edition 2026
2026 Program
The 36th edition relies on the proven alternation between the three main venues — Alte Pfarr, Rittersaal of the Castle, and Parish Church of St. Katharina. Manfred Honeck curates the 2026 program with a special focus on the connection between established soloists and top young musicians.
With British cellist Sheku Kanneh-Mason, one of the most sought-after classical artists of his generation will be a guest in Wolfegg in 2026. The Fibonacci Quartet complements the program as representatives of the next generation of musicians. The Bruckner finale in St. Katharina is Honeck's personal tribute to a composer whose work he has been shaping interpretively for decades.

One of Upper Swabia's Most Traditional Classical Initiatives
The Internationale Wolfegger Konzerte are among the finest classical festivals in Southern Germany. Founded in 1989 by the Freundeskreis Wolfegger Konzerte e.V., the festival has been held for 36 years in the extraordinary spaces of Wolfegg Castle and its two churches. For years, the artistic director has been the Austrian conductor Manfred Honeck, Music Director of the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra and one of the most renowned conductors of our time. His motto for the festival: "Music moves us and brings people together."
Three Venues, Three Concerts
The Wolfegg model is sophisticated: each festival evening features a different historical space and a different genre, acoustically perfectly matched to the respective program.
Friday, June 26, 2026, is the prize winners' concert in the Alte Pfarr — a Romanesque church interior with warm acoustics. The Fibonacci Quartet will perform works from Mozart to Janáček. The young British string quartet is among the European elite of the next generation.
Saturday, June 27, 2026, features the orchestral concert in the Rittersaal of Schloss Wolfegg — one of the most magnificent Renaissance halls in Southern Germany. On the program: Sheku Kanneh-Mason, the British cellist who gained worldwide fame at the wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle in 2018 — and has since established himself as a serious classical star.
Sunday, June 28, 2026, concludes with the Church Concert in the Parish Church of St. Katharina — a Baroque church with excellent choral acoustics. The program: Choral music by Anton Bruckner with guest soloists, a program personally curated by Honeck, a Bruckner specialist.
Wolfegg in the Ravensburg District
Wolfegg is a market town with just under 3,800 inhabitants in Upper Swabia, nestled in a hilly pre-Alpine landscape. Schloss Wolfegg has belonged to the noble family of the same name (Fürst zu Waldburg-Wolfegg-Waldsee) for centuries — a magnificent Renaissance ensemble with a castle church, Rittersaal, library, and park. The family has supported the festival from the beginning and provides the Rittersaal every year. Wolfegg is also home to the Bauernhausmuseum (open-air museum) and the Wolfegg Wildlife Park.
What to Expect
Expect an elegant, but not stiff, classical audience — regulars from Ravensburg, Wangen, Lindau, Memmingen, and interregional travelers from Stuttgart, Munich, and Zurich. The concerts are world-class, the venues extraordinary, and tickets are in high demand — early booking recommended.
